Performance opportunities and competitive experiences are great ways for children to learn valuable qualities! At Stage Door Dance Productions, we promote competition as a positive learning experience that is not based solely on winning top awards; instead, we promote children to do the best they can as an individual and to use their talents to the best of their abilities. We want each and every child to be proud of who they are!
With the experience, children learn how to compete respectfully and gracefully, always encouraging other dancers from our studio and from other studios. Children learn the importance of practicing, discipline, and time management; ultimately working hard for what they desire. Not only will these skills and lessons apply in dance, but they will also apply in the future academic, professional, and personal endeavors. Children learn constructive criticism in a positive environment, while developing courage and confidence.
Stage Door Dance Productions offers the competitive dance company for dancers ages 4 & up who want to learn about the dance world on a heightened level. Our competition teams are based on ability levels and age groups. Dancers are required to audition for the competition teams and are placed in the proper company based on their age and ability.
Auditions for our 2011-2012 Elite Company will be held on Saturday, June 11th, 2011. There will be a late audition on Saturday, August 6th, 2011.
In the past two years, our Elite Company has participated in the following events: Carolina Dance Masters Solo Title Competition Preliminaries in Charlotte, SHOCK The Intensive in Charlotte, Carolina Dance Masters Fall Convention in Greensboro, LADF in Charlotte, the Downtown Raleigh Tree Lighting, Encore Dance Competition for the Stars in Raleigh & Winston-Salem, Carolina Dance Master’s Winter Workshop, the PULSE in Atlanta, GA, Dance Machine Productions Competition in Winston-Salem, the National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade in Washington, DC, and Showstopper Competition in Myrtle Beach, SC.
